Drive the Future Beyond Healthcare to Wellness
JOIMT is an on-line journal of the Society of Individualized Medicine and Therapies available to anyone who is interested in learning more about medical advances that have improved patient care. Articles, research, and other contributed material are for the purpose of educating and providing a more individualized approach to medicine.
The Society of Individualized Medicine and Therapies is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit providing information to patients, providers and caregivers for health and wellness!

We are about Individualized Medicine
Individualized Medicine and Therapies is purposed to bring light to physicians, researchers, patients, and patients’ loved ones whose diagnoses and measurements are unique to the individual patient and those treatments and therapies that may help to return the individual patient not only to health but to wellness. We believe wellness includes reduced morbidity and mortality risks, reduced medication-load, and reduced hospitalizations and re-hospitalizations, all the while improving quality of life and productivity.
Journals: A quick Introduction
Our commitment is to empower individuals with knowledge, making information on individualized medicine and therapies widely available. The Journal not only provides you with enhanced insights but also supports our non-profit mission.

A Rheumatologist’s Perspective on EDS and Hypermobility
Going for a Dive
You’ve a young patient in your office who’s come to you in desperation. She’s been diagnosed by others as having all sorts of disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis and even fibromyalgia, and she says she was compliant with all the prescribed therapies, but nothing has been helping (and a few things seem to just make things worse!). And to top it all off, your patient was even referred by someone for a psych eval. Even her family does not believe her! But she knows it is not all in her head, that it is real. All she wants is to feel better!

P&S Monitoring Assists Risk Management in Cardiovascular Patients
Getting Back into the Spin of Things
Your cardiovascular patients are such sweet people (for the most part). They’re generally older and have lived long lives full of interesting memories that you enjoy listening to them share. That’s why it can be so sad to see them reduced to such a state of limitation and pain now that their hearts are failing them. How wonderful it would be to be able to return even a small measure of the vitality with which they enjoyed life to the fullest!
Health Education and Social Awareness
A shift towards a more personalized care that considers the social, emotional, and cultural needs of patients.

compassionate and respectful
As the population ages, the number of seniors living with cardiovascular disease will continue to rise. This makes it increasingly important for healthcare systems to adopt a personalized approach that considers the full spectrum of each patient’s needs.
Take advantage of our clinical P&S monitoring test. You may be able to give back both quality of life and longevity to your patients!

Sympathetic Nervous System in Congestive Heart Failure
CHF is common (2% of adults), costly (the leading cause of hospitalization of older adults), and deadly (35% of patients die within the first year of diagnosis). CHF mortality is similar to some cancers. As the population ages, well over 40 million people will be diagnosed globally.
Most diseases have primary P&S dysfunction. Monitoring provides more information and improves differential diagnostics.

The Heart of an Athlete
The outburst of POTS cases has puzzled doctors. The syndrome tends to strike suddenly, leaving previously healthy people unable to function, with no clear cause. In recent years, doctors specializing in the condition have noticed an unusual subset of patients that are young, highly trained athletes, who are female.
With the help of Parasympathetic and Sympathetic Monitoring, doctors can find out more information about what is going on with your body behind the scenes.

Support Our Mission: Provide Real Solutions
Far too often, when doctors can’t find the cause of a condition, they treat only the symptoms, sometimes making things worse. This leaves individuals frustrated, dismissed, and often wrongly labeled with mental health issues. We know their suffering is not psychological—it’s physical, and we have the tools to uncover the true cause of their symptoms and provide real treatment.
Your support will make a difference in these lives!

connective tissue disorders
Imagine being young, active, and full of life—only to suddenly face debilitating pain, overwhelming fatigue, and a host of unexplained symptoms that leave you unable to work or enjoy life.
This is the reality for many individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), and other Heritable Connective Tissue Disorders (HCTDs). These conditions cause dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system.
Long-COVID
Long-COVID is more than just lingering symptoms—it’s a complex, debilitating condition that includes Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and more.
COVID-19 has caused severe dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system, leaving millions to struggle with debilitating, unexplained symptoms.
Depression & Anxiety
Depression and anxiety affect millions of people, but what if the true cause of these conditions isn’t solely psychological?
Many individuals suffering from these disorders also experience unexplained symptoms like sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal issues, women’s health problems, and more.
The truth is, these symptoms are often linked to P&S dysfunction.
Veterans Affairs
Our veterans have sacrificed everything to protect our freedom, but when they return home, many are left struggling with the invisible scars of war—PTSD and related disorders.
PTSD doesn’t just impact mental health—it disrupts the Parasympathetic and Sympathetic (P&S) nervous systems; they create a cascade of physical symptoms, from sleep disturbances to chronic pain, that make everyday life a challenge.
